BCCI Awards for 2013-14 announced; Bhuvneshwar Kumar the best

Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar has been chosen for the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award by the Board of Control for Cricket in Indai (BCCI). The Indian cricket board today announced
the award winners for the top achievers in the 2013-14 season. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has won the Polly Umrigar Award for being the best international cricketer of the season.

"The 8th annual BCCI Awards Ceremony, to recognise and reward India's top cricketing performers in the 2013-14 season, will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, 21 November 2014, at the Seaside Lawns, Taj Land's End, Bandra, 

Mumbai," the board said in a media release on Tuesday. Vengsarkar was nominated for the award by a committee comprising of Shekhar Gupta, Senior Media personality, Shivlal Yadav, Interim President, 

BCCI and Sanjay Patel, Hony. Secretary, BCCI, it added. The Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award comprises a citation, trophy and cheque for Rs. 25 Lakhs. The BCCI Awards Ceremony has been organised prior to the Indian cricket team's departure to Australia for a Test series, the board said.
