Director Pandian who once directed Arun Vijay's Priyam in the year 1996 is back in Kollywood to helm a women based film featuring Trisha, Oviya and Poonam Bajwa in lead roles. Having named his film Bhogi, Pandian has clarified that the film is about three girls who try to bury their past in order to create themselves a new lease of life and hence the title.
"Not very long ago, an incident near Chennai shook the whole of Tamil Nadu. This film is based on that true event which victimized three young women", the director has said in an interview.
According to him, Trisha plays the character of a bold girl who takes the initiative and convinces the other two girls to join her in the fight in order to seek justice for themselves.
While Trisha's character is named Indhu, Oviya and Poonam play the roles of Subha and Soniya respectively, according to filmmaker Pandian. "Most of the sequences has been shot already.
Currently we are waiting for the authority's permission to shoot an important scene near Chennai airport. We will start our next schedule there once we get the green signal", he has added. Apart from
the three leading ladies, Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah are roped in to play important roles. The film is expected to hit the big screen later this year. Meanwhile Trisha, who is keeping herself busy post
her break up is currently working in a Telugu flick and two Tamil films namely, Aranmanai 2 and Thoonga Vanam. Her films Bhooloham and Appa Takkaru, both featuring Jayam Ravi are yet to be released.
