Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare Review: Dreadful Soap Opera On Big Screen

Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare is a family entertainer which stars Jayaram in the lead role. The movie, directed by Kannan Thamarakulam, marks the lead role debut of popular singer-television host Rimi Tomy. Anoop Menon essays a pivotal role.
The movie is produced by Anto Joseph under the banner Anto Joseph Film Company. Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare Plot Jayadevan Chungathara (Jayaram) is a most-wanted writer in the Malayalam Television industry,

who pens the scripts for all major soap operas. He is completely against the concept of marriage and has no plans to marry. But he ends up marrying Pushpavalli (Rimi Tomy), who is a diehard fan of Jayadevan and his serials. The marriage brings in a lot of changes in Jayadevan's life and this forms the crux of the story.

Jayaram has nothing much to do as Jayadevan Chungathara and fails to go beyond his usual standards. He largely disappoints by overacting at certain points. It's high time for the actor to move on from his highly stereotyped roles and try something different to save his ailing career.

Rimi Tomy, who makes her lead role debut with the movie, will test the patience of the audiences with the over-dosage of her so-called 'jokes'. She may cater her diehard fans who enjoy her television show,; but completely fails to impress the normal audience.

Anoop Menon is just wasted in his minimal role, whic h completely lacks substance. The rest of the cast including KPAC Lalitha, Janardhanan, Ganesh, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Edavela Babu, Anoop Chandran, Rachana Narayanankutty

etc are just ok in their respective roles. Script And Direction There is nothing much to describe about the hollow script and weak direction. The film tries to depict the Television industry in a much unconvincing way.

Director Kannan Thamarakkulam fails to bring out the best from the actors and make the movie engaging with standard comical elements. Sadly, the movie fits into the category of a typical Malayalam soap opera

and hardly caters the audience who expect a cinema. Technical Aspects Pradeep Nair's cinematography is above average. VT Sreejith editing could have been even more better, as the movie completely lags at certain points.

Songs And Background Score Sanand George's songs are just okay, while background score fails to make an impact. Verdict A dreadful soap opera on the big screen!
