Happy Birthday Dhanush! Dhanush's Best Works As A Lyricist

One of Kollywood's best actor and a star who is growing in leaps and bounds turns 32 today. Yes, it's Dhanush's birthday and time to celebrate it FilmiBeat style. Born as Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, he had to adapt to his screen name Dhanush

after the release of his first film Thulluvadho Ilamai  directed by his father Kasthuri Raja, as per records. Though Dhanush had a successful start to his acting career which began in 2002, his career graph took

an unexpected plunge in 2004 and remained that way for the next four years with the only relief coming in the form of Pudhupettai  in 2006.

His major break came through Polladhavan which was his first movie with director Vetrimaran. When these two joined hands again for Aadukalam, the actor became a sensation as the movie

earned him his first National Award. Though Dhanush had sung many songs before, his 'Why This Kolaveri Di' from the film 3 became an internet, eventually becoming most viewed Indian song ever on YouTube.

This film 3, which marked his wife Aishwarya's directorial debut, exposed Dhanush as a full time lyricist as he went on to pen down all the songs featuring in the movie.

Pirai Thedum From Mayakkam Enna Dhanush had proved his abilities as a lyricist even before the release of 3 as he had penned the lyrics for this song 'Pirai Thedum' along with his brother Selvaraghavan who is also the director of this movie. GV Prakash had scored music for Mayakkam Enna.

Nee Paartha Vizhigal From 3 Though all the songs in 3 were written by Dhanush, few managed to grab the eyeballs of well known Tamil lyricists and 'Nee Paartha Vizhigal' is definitely one among them. The song was a romantic track and Dhanush as a lyricist had done full justice to the song.

Po Nee Po From 3 The lyrics of this song will overwhelm you, for it is written in a powerful manner. The song speaks about a man's pain and his situation in which he is forced to abandon his much loved wife. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Kadal Raasa Naan From Maryan This is indeed a special song as it is sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja and composed by AR Rahman. Add to that Dhanush's mind-boggling lyrics and you know how special the song really is. Maryan was directed by Bharat Bala.

Title Track From Velaiyilla Pattathari Listen to the lyrics of this song and an energy from an unrecognizable source will fill your mind up at that very instant. The movie was directed by Velraj and the music was composed by Anirudh.

Amma Amma From Velaiyilla Pattathari And I have saved the best for the last. The simplicity hidden in its lyrics is that of a cry of a child. The lyrics in this song is powerful enough to induce tears in one's eyes and hence I consider this as Dhanush's best till date.
