Shillong, July 27: Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Monday passed away after he was admitted to a private hospital here in Meghalaya in a critical condition. Kalam collapsed at the Indian Institute of Management-Shillong while delivering a lecture to the students of the B-school.
"The former president was brought almost dead to our hospital. He is in a critical condition. We are trying to revive the patient," John Sailo Ryntathiang, director of Bethany Hospital, told IANS.
A man who 'ignited minds', gladdened hearts & steered our Nation to glory. With profound grief my shraddhanjali to Dr. Kalam.
