KV Anand is known for his unique storyline and that's where his strength lies as a director. His latest directorial venture Anegan too promises to be distinctive and going by its official trailer, looks like the cinematographer turned director has not refrained from experimenting.
Anegan's trailer, as expected has Dhanush in different avatars and showcases the female lead Amyra Dastur in almost every frame which is refreshing for a Tamil cinema. The trailer also deals with spirits and displays the central characters
in two or more different time periods which makes it even more interesting. The 2 minute trailer has a story in itself. Anegan could be dealing with a concept of human relationships that continues to exist even after generations or is it all just pure imagination? There are few Tamil
films that has already successfully narrated the story of relationships across different generations and fans would be hoping that Anegan is not an old wine in new bottle. Veteran actor Karthik might steal the show as his personality will suit a role with a negative shade.
Harris Jayaraj's background score is nothing out of the ordinary but at the same time it is more or less apt for visuals displayed in the trailer. The neatly cut trailer has some interesting
stunt sequences and the pictures look stylish more than glossy. To round things off, according to the trailer, Anegan could either turn out to be an excellent film or a below average entertainer. For now, KV Anand has accomplished in keeping his audience guessing if that's what he intended to do by releasing the official theatrical trailer.
