62nd National Film Awards are being announced and Tamil cinema has already won seven of them. We bring you live updates as the awards are still being given away. Vivek Harshan, the editor of Jigarthanda has bagged the Best Editor of the year while Na Muthukumar has got the Best Lyricist award for the second consecutive time.
It is to be noted that Muthukumar won the best lyricist last year for the song 'aanandha yaazhai' from the movie Thanga Meenkal. It is said that the song 'Azhagu' from Saivam has awarded him the honour this year.
The biggest surprise has come in the form of Best Female Playback Singer. Unnikrishnan's eight year old daughter Uthara Unnikrishnan has won the best singer award for her debut song in the film Saivam.
It is to be noted that Unnikrishnan too won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his first song 'Ennavale' in the film Kadhalan. Bobby Simha has won the Best Supporting

Best Writing On Cinema Dhananjayan has won the best writing on cinema award for his book 'Pride Of Tamil Cinema' under the special mention category.
