Orange Mittai Movie Review

Vijay Sethupathi's Orange Mittai  has swooped into many theatres all over the world. Expectations were quite high for this film as Vijay Sethupathi has been portrayed as an old man. Does the film fulfil its expectations? What does Orange Mittai  has to offer? Continue to read our review to know.
Orange Mittai Plot: The film opens with the death anniversary of Sathya's (Ramesh Thilak) father. Having lost his father exactly a year ago, Sathya a paramedic, receives a call from an elderly person, who lets him know that he requires an ambulance as soon as possible. Sathya, along with another paramedic, rushes to

the old man's house in an ambulance and helps Kailasam (Vijay Sethupathi) to board the vehicle. In the process, he learns that the old man isn't fighting for his life as claimed by him earlier, but he is a heart patient

nevertheless. As these three men begin their journey in the ambulance, Kailasam's grumpy and obstinate nature causes trouble to the paramedics and the course of their journey changes drastically. Who is Kailasam?

What does he really want? What is the cause behind his adamant nature? Answers to these questions forms the crux of the story. Performances: As expected, Vijay Sethupathi stands out in his new avatar.

His mannerisms as a crabby old man will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. Kudos to the actor for taking up such a simple yet complicated role and to deliver what is required in a powerful way.

His willingness to experiment will only add credibility to his acting career. Ramesh Thilak comes up with yet another believable performance. He has even tried his hand at sentiment in this flick and his subtle

performance in such scenes will definitely open new doors for the actor. Technicalities: Orange Mittai  is technically strong too. Biju Viswanath's unique way of narrating a story has worked like a charm in Orange Mittai.

His cinematography too is above par as he has tried refreshingly new angles which elevates certain scenes. With a total run time of 1 hour and 41 minutes his editing too is as impressive as it can get. Justin Prabhakaran's

background score is the only setback Orange Mittai  suffers from. The music director could've kept his audience engaged in many scenes but the composer has chosen to do the opposite by opting for a mute approach in many scenes.

Vijay's First Movie Orange Mittai  is Vijay Sethupathi's first movie as a producer. It is to be noted that the flick is co-produced by B Ganesh of Common Man Productions.

Central Characters The entire movie revolves around three central characters (seen in the pic). Most of the scenes were shot in and around Tirunelveli and Papanasam areas.

Aashritha Aashritha doesn't have much to prove in this movie. Her screen space too is limited which comes across as a surprise.

Ramesh Thilak Orange Mittai  is definitely one of the sweetest moments in Ramesh Thilak's career so far as the movie has provided him the much needed opportunity to perform. Also, his character appears throughout the film.

The Grumpy Old Man When Vijay Sethupathi launched the movie, he had revealed that the role of a 55 year old man would be played by producer turned actor Jayaprakash. However, it was later confirmed that the role would be played by Vijay Sethupathi himself.

Father Son Relationship The basic purpose of this movie is to narrate a father son relationship with a difference.
