Court Orders Baahubali Makers To Chop Scenes

The Madras high court has now ordered makers of Baahubali to chop scenes, nearly after 50 days of its release since few dialogues in the film were allegedly hurting the sentiments of Dalits in Tamilnadu. A petrol bomb was hurled on a theatre in Tamilnadu last month by members belonging to a local community and the group expressed
their anguish over the way a Dalit community Arundhadiyar, has been portrayed in the film. Though the dialogue writer of Tamil version, Madan Karky and director Rajamouli has apologized for the misunderstanding,

the issue was sought to Court and Madurai bench of Madras HC has ordered district collectors to look into the deletion of scenes. Earlier, censor board has already requested to chop the scenes scenes,

which created the controversy and now the court has also intervened in to the issue to ensure the scenes were edited out.  Theatres playing the unedited version will be fined accordingly and court cases will be registered in case of disobeying the orders.

Madan Karky Apology "In the dialogue quoted to be the issue, "en thaayaiyum thaai naattaiyum endha pagadaikku pirandhavanum thoda mudiyaadhu...", I had used the term ‘pagadaikku piranthavan' to mean a person born out of loss in a gambling game of dice.I did not know that it was the name of a community.

In other scenes, the hero, who delivers this dialogue, is depicted as someone against caste-ism and even as a child, stands up for equality of all castes, against the norm of his nation.Such a protagonist would

never talk ill of any caste. Our intention is not to speak ill of anyone. Just so that the invaders should not be equated to any caste or group, a new language was created for them.We have taken all

possible efforts to avoid hurting the feelings of any group. Now, I'm also taking efforts to remove the word that has hurt the sentiments of a community.I'm letting you know that the word will be removed from the movie soon. I'm sorry if anyone has been hurt."

Other Controversy Manu Jagadh, was allegedly offered the role of an art director for Baahubali and he later got to see his name as an art assistant in the credits, which led to credit controversy.

Poster Controversy Baahubali first ever poster triggered controversy for being similar to that of a hollywood poster.

Copied Scenes Baahubali is undeniably the greatest epic made in our times but it is alleged for copying few scenes from Hollywood films.
