Jharkhand, JK poll (Live): 50 % voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir till 2 pm

Fate of 175 candidates, including deputy speaker, four ministers and 11 other sitting MLAs will be decided in Jammu and Kashmir where polling is underway for the second time on Tuesday, Dec 2. Meanwhile,
Jharkhand too is set to go to the poll for the second time. Elections will be held at 20 of the 81 constituencies on Tuesday. A total of 223 candidates are in the fray. Their fate will be decided by 44,13,716 voters - of which 22,48,331 are males and 21,65,379 females.

Security has been beefed up at the two districts -- Kulgam and Kupwara where elections will be held at total 18 seats. According to senior officials, security grid is fully geared up to foil any attempts of militants to disrupt the democratic process.
