Most Controversial Tamil Movies Of Recent Past

Controversies and Kollywood go hand in hand for it is extremely difficult to fabricate an innovative cinema without hurting someone's or some organization's sentiments. More the innovation, more is the risk of irking someone unintentionally.

If you are confused, then take a look at any recently released Kamal Haasan movie and you will have a fair idea. Even a comedy caper like Manmadan Ambu had its share of controversy when a

song was forcefully removed from the movie after the 'Hindu Makkal Katchi' claimed that the lyrics is aimed at defaming their films. If you think hurting religious sentiments can give somebody a strong reason to protest, 

what about a group of barbers protesting against the release of Kuselan when a clip from the movie had Vadivelu causing injury to someone while shaving his head?

Nadunisi Naaygal This experimental movie from Gautham Menon was criticized by many, but the group Hindu Makkal Katchi protested against it and demanded the deletion of few scenes as the movie projected intimacy between the hero and a woman who raises him.

Sindhu Samaveli Several women organizations had a problem with this particular film which showcases illicit relationship between a woman and her father in law. The movie was directed by Samy.

Vishwaroopam Vishwaroopam was directed by Kamal Haasan himself. Since the movie initially had the brutal killings of innocent victims executed by Taliban terrorists, certain Muslim groups had pressed for its ban citing that the movie showed them in bad light.
