Chandi Veeran Movie Review And Rating: Could've Easily Been A Must Watch

Atharvaa Murali's Chandi Veeran movie review and rating is here. Continue to read our review to know what the movie has to offer from the plot to its technicalities. Chandi Veeran (U): Book Your Tickets Right Away! Chandi Veeran Plot: Two villages are situated next to each other. While one has enough water even for recreational purposes,

its neighbouring village survives on contaminated water which often leads to death and adversity. Chandi Veeran talks about the basic struggle for clean water and the film's protagonist,

Atharvaa fights on behalf of his water deprived village. Performances: This film's main attraction is its lead pair Atharvaa and Anandhi of Kayal  fame. Chandi Veeran largely thrives on its romantic sequences and hence most of the credits must go to the lead pair. Lal and Ashvin Raja are convincing

enough in their respective roles while other supporting actors have delivered realistic performances, which you expect in a Sarkunam film. Technicalities: Though the movie takes a few minutes to settle down,

it gets interesting as it approaches the interval block and manages to keep you hooked throughout the first half. Screenplay in the second half lacks the punch it had in the beginning and hence

gives us an impression that the film could've easily been lot more engrossing. PG Muthiah's cinematography deserves a special mention. While it is easy to display mundane pictures for a film like Chandi Veeran,

he has managed to dish out sharp images which acts as a pleasant surprise. Background score by the Sabesh-Murali duo adds value to the film by elevating the tension wherever required.

They have also managed to keep it subtle in the melodramatic portions which has worked out well. Overall View: With a good plot, Sarkunam could've made

Chandi Veeran a must watch but fails to do so. The end product however, is a decent entertainer with an appropriate social message.

A Film By Bala Chandi Veeran is produced by well known director Bala. After bankrolling the project, Bala then sold it to Sri Green Productions.

Songs All the songs are composed by SN Arunagiri. The upcoming music director has dished out some foot-tapping beats in Chandi Veeran.

Picturesque Backdrop The film has managed to capture the nativity of a small village which acts as an added advantage.

Director's Strength Village based subjects seems to be director Sarkunam's forte. He found success in his first two films namely Kalavani  and Vaagai Sooda Vaa, but failed to impress through Dhanush's Naiyaandi, which was city based.

Early Rumours Initially the film was rumoured to be titled as 'Puzhudhi Parakkum Ooru'. But such speculations were denied by the makers.

Film's Main Antagonist Lal of Sandakozhi  fame has played the film's main antagonist and once again has proved his mettle as an actor.

Atharvaa's Upcoming Projects Atharvaa's upcoming films include Eetti  opposite Sri Divya and Kanithan opposite Catherine Tresa of Madras fame.

Anandhi's Upcoming Films Anandhi has a number of films lined up against her name. Some of them include Visaranai, Trisha Illana Nayanthara, Faisal  and Pandigai.

Box Office Success Chandi Veeran should have a decent run at the box office as according to trade analysts, the film should be a winner at B and C centres. In Chennai too the first day response has been pretty good.
